Music and the Arts

Rev. Tempe’ Fussell, Moderator

Worshipping Through Art

During the season of Lent, we will have a display supplementing “Promises of the wilderness” the Lenten sermon series.

The season begins with a sermon touching on the evil of Human trafficking and looking at Genesis 12 as a reminder of God’s care for every one of us. This is in honor of our Dollars for Mission emphasis of March and April of supporting REACH to curtail trafficking that is even in our own community. The remainder of the season we will be preparing for Easter, with an Easter silk painting designed by Ann Tauber.

We enjoy highlighting every season with our arts and invite all who like to create to come paint the colors of Creation Season, the fruits of Stewardship Season, the anticipation of Advent and Christmas Season and the glitter of the season of Epiphany.

Chapel or Sanctuary?

We are now worshiping every Sunday in our sanctuary. As long as our community is still experiencing illness and death from the Corona Virus, we will safe distance in our large sanctuary. We have been using our lovely Chapel, for smaller events and acoustical benefits. Therefore, things like concerts, weddings, Ash Wednesday Service and other events continue to find a home in our historic Chapel.

Name Tags for Friends & Members

We appreciate those who put on their name tags each Sunday morning. It is a good way to put all worshipers on the same level in being able to welcome each other. It is difficult to keep up with who is in worship each Sunday because a good number of our members and friends travel and have residences in other states.

We will be ordering new name tags this month. We currently have a list of those who have requested  a name tag in the church office. Please make certain your name is on that list if you do not yet have a name tag. Even if you are only here a few Sundays a month, we enjoy calling each other by name. The name tags were $6.00 for our original order. The secondary order may differ, but do not let the cost deter you from ordering. We can cover the cost if you cannot.

We Would Love to Have You Visit Soon!
