A Message From First Presbyterian Church,
" We are Christ's people, and this is Christ's Church. We open our doors wide, just as they have been opened wide to us. If you are passing through, Godspeed. If you are looking for a church home, welcome. If you need instruction, learn from us as we learn from you." UPCOMING EVENTSMay/June Dollars for Mission will aid our local non-profit organization, REACH. The mission of REACH of Macon County is to eradicate domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking crimes in Macon County, through prevention, intervention, and educational services. June 14 and June 28 - 2:00 p.m. - Sharing the Journey - M2 - Many of our elderly neighbors suffer from forms of dementia or memory loss and require constant care. Often, they are attended by a loving family member. Because of constant stress, these caregivers may experience fatigue, anxiety, and depression. Joining a support group affords the caregiver the opportunity to share with other caregivers facing similar challenges. The groups offer them the setting for sharing information, insight, advice, and encouragement. They form a trusted group built on empathy and compassion and where the participants can share their own feelings and needs. June 18 10:00 a.m. in our Sanctuary- "Happy Father's Day" Please join us for the Kirkin O' the Tartans (Blessing of the Tartans) Service. Wear your Tartan. Bagpiper Michael Waters will lead the procession into the Sanctuary. Worship Service is with Dr. Royce Browder. Lunch to follow after the service in Tartan Hall. ![]() FPC Tiny Free Library
FPC invites you to visit the tiny library in front of the church sanctuary. You are encouraged to take a book as often as you like and then pass it on to someone else when you have finished it. A variety of topics is available (fiction and non-fiction) and the library is stocked weekly with new selections. The library was established in memory of former member, Martha Rainer, who served the church as an elder and chair person of the Christian Education team. |
