Mission StatementThe Mission and Service members trust in God's guidance as we strive to "serve with Hope." Our dedicated, talented team members feel deeply their call to mission and service and pledge to be daring as we answer Christ's call. Our focus has been varied, beginning with using parables to help us focus then moving ahead as we felt God was directing us. We are always looking for new team members who feel service is their call.
Our annual budget allows us to service both local, national, and international programs. Through our budget, the church regularly supports CareNet, Guatemala Children's Scholarship and the Guatemala Partnership, Black Mountain Home for Children. We also have emergency funds such as gas cards, transit passes, etc. The Mission Opportunities portion of the budget allowed us to provide assistance to Smoky Mountain Harm Reduction, Habitat for Humanity, REACH of Macon County, World Central Kitchen, This Child Here, Doctors without Borders, Graham Memorial Presbyterian Church (flooding in Kentucky) and Kid's Place. Donations are made to Presbyterian Disaster Relief for flooding in various parts of the United States and for Ukraine. In addition, we designated money for the purchase of "menstrual products" to be distributed to local charities and in some local schools. We will continue to work to serve those in need around the world. We all continue on this journey remembering "when you have done it to one of the least of these my brothers, you have done it to me." Meetings are held the first Tuesday of the month at 2:00 p.m. in M2. |
